The idea for Phosphorescence Magazine came about in January of 2007 after Alina Skye, editor and creator, visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. Although she saw many exquisite pieces of art, she could not help but think about the artists that, because they did not have enough money or the "right" connections, were unable to showcase their work. While the magazine was originally meant to showcase unknown artists, artists well-known in their areas of expertise took an interest as well. Now, all levels of experience can come together to showcase their work.  Reviewers Emma Dylllan and Lily Emeralde joined in March of 2006, and mailroom attendant Melinda Atwood followed shortly thereafter. Thus, in accordance with its mission statement, the magazine not only illuminates the art of creativity, but also promotes unity through art. Over the past year, the magazine's message has reached many artists from all over the world. It has truly been an amazing experience so far, and this is just the beginning.
